I’m looking for covers of popular rock/pop songs by alternative/indie artists for a solo i’m doing this year. I’m mainly looking for slower versions of the song, or versions that are done w/ a different spin on them. For example, I LOVE glen hansard’s cover of “everytime” (originally by britney spears).

Rock, indie, pop, alternative, acoustic love songs. Can anyone give me some suggestions of good songs with those genres? Just songs that are mainly about a girl. Like rufio, acceptance, the staring line, rooney, just stuff like that. But even other bands would be great. Basically just love songs about or just have some thing to do with a girl. Lol acoustic would be awesome, but anything is cool, thanks . I need help here. =]

I have been playing guitar for 7 years and have written many heavy metal songs and heavy rock. I have recently gotten alot into pop indie, sorta death cab for cutie, hush sound, etc. I would like to start a project with this and am having some trouble figuring out how to write these sorta songs. I am used to starting with a complex guitar riff, whereas it seems these start with a catcy singing hook. Any tips/thoughts?
